Camp Connect — more commonly known as day camp — is an effort to forge a partnership between King’s Domain and local churches to create a high-energy atmosphere in which kids between the ages of 6–12 can learn about Christ.
Many churches host a vacation Bible school program for one week during the summer as a chance to build into the children of regular attenders as well as to reach out to the community. Camp Connect operates with a similar mission, seeking to assist churches by giving King’s Domain staff the responsibility of facilitating the program. College students from across the nation serve as counselors and perform the necessary manual labor, freeing up church staff members, volunteers and parents to focus solely on building and deepening relationships with the children during the week.
In addition, Camp Connect creates an opportunity for youth groups to serve as Momentum — or junior counselors — while kids from the same church attend camp during the day. This program aims to involve children, teenagers and adults from local churches to strengthen existing and develop new relational connections within the body of Christ.
